CNN launches new yachting program
The latest sailing TV program to hit the satellite screens is "Inside Sailing".
The show is produced by CNN and takes us trough what's new in the world of yachting, with excellent access to big names in sailing.
The first show opens with look at the preparations and training for the famous America's Cup that will take place in October 2002.
A quick racing round-up precedes the break and second part opens with a look at the Volvo Ocean Race. The second leg start on 11 November 2001 from Cape Town South Africa to Sydney in Australia distance of 6.550 Miles, sailing in the most dangerous area of the Southern Oceans. Next we are brought to look at the special environmental project running in tandem with the race.
The show wraps with a profile of the first person ever to hold the holy grail of short handed sailing - a solo and non-stop passage around the world - the famous
Sir Robin Knox-Johnson. He takes us through his career, from the Golden Globe to ENZA's Jules Verne catamaran record sailing around the world.
The first of regular magazine of shows, will be in the air at 20:30 GMT on Sunday 25 November 2001 and will go out at the same time on the last Sunday of every month, with repeats at 17:30 GMT the following Wednesday and at 18:30 GMT on the following Saturday.
