European Championship in Palma
The European dinghy championship was held in Palma de Majorka in Spain, during 25-29 March 2002 with the participation of 920 boats in 11 different classes.
420, 470, Dragon, 49er, Europa, Finn, Lasser, Mistral, Star, Tormnado and Yangling.
Strong wind conditions dominated the races and there was much equipment damaged, but the race was necessary to even out the number of races in each group for the qualifying series.
Two Israeli crew participated in 470 women class, with a good result. The veteran sailors Anat Fabrikant and Linor Kliger took the second place overall and received the silver medal for Israel. The younger pair, Vered Buskila and Kronicky Nike arrived tenth place among 45 racing boats. Which is impressive achievement.
The gold medal went to Sofia Bekatorou and Emilia Tsoulfa from Grece
